A. SPECIFIC TERMS FOR THIS CONTEST

Overview; Objective
Use the DS Leather Goods Halloween Bag leather PDF pattern as a base and create a unique, customized bag. This is a skill-based contest focusing on creativity and craftsmanship.
Eligibility
THE CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO NATURAL PERSONS WHO, AT THE TIME OF ENTRY:
- Are registered members of Stitchables.net;
- Are at least thirteen (13) years old; and
- Are not residents of any country or region subject to a U.S. trade embargo (as of 2025: North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Cuba, Iran, and the region of Crimea), nor residents of Belarus, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Turkey, Romania, Poland, Russia, or the Province of Quebec, Canada.
If on the Contest Start Date you are a “minor,” meaning under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must obtain the permission of your parent or legal guardian before entering. Your parent or legal guardian must consent to be bound by these Rules as if they were an entrant. Sponsor reserves the right to require minors to submit proof of parental or guardian permission and consent to these Rules at any time. Failure to provide proof may result in immediate disqualification.
Certain individuals are excluded from eligibility to enter or win, as described in Section B (Additional Terms) below.
Pattern Access. Sponsor will provide up to 130 free downloads of the DS Leather Goods Halloween Bag pattern. After the free downloads are claimed, participants may still enter the Contest by purchasing the pattern directly from DS Leather Goods. A purchase is not required to win and will not improve chances of winning. Judging is based solely on the criteria described in these Rules.
Contest Period
Starts October 1st, 2025 at 11:00 AM Central Standard Time and ends October 31st at 11:00 AM Central Standard Time (the “Contest Period”). Sponsor’s server is the official timekeeper.
How to Enter
- Get the Pattern. Up to 130 free downloads of the DS Leather Goods Halloween Bag pattern will be available via Stitchables.net. After the free allotment is used, entrants may purchase the pattern from DS Leather Goods.
- Make Your Bag. Use the pattern and make it your own – change colors, modify the cover, add engraving/tooling, etc.
- Post Your Entry. Upload 1 to 5 clear photos (and optional description) of your finished bag to the Maker’s Feed and select the topic “Halloween Contest.”
- If you forget, click the three dots (⋮) on your post → Edit → choose “Halloween Contest.”
- Limit. Multiple entries are permitted, but only one prize per person.
Entry Requirements
Entries must:
- Be original works;
- Not infringe third-party rights;
- Comply with laws and Stitchables.net policies;
- Avoid obscene, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or unsafe content.
Sponsor may disqualify non-compliant entries.
Judging; Winners; Odds
This is not a sweepstakes; winners are selected based on skill. Eligible entries will be judged by a panel chosen by Sponsor using these five criteria (equal weight, 0-10 points each):
- Creativity & Originality
- Craftsmanship & Quality
- Use/Transformation of the Pattern
- Halloween Spirit
- Overall Presentation
Highest composite scores win. Ties may be broken by the highest median score or additional judge review. Likes/Votes on Stitchables (if any) are for entertainment only and do not affect judging. Odds depend on the number and quality of entries.

- 5th Place: $25 Visa® Gift Card
- Deyan’s Favorite: Winner receives 3 free DS Leather Goods patterns (choice from catalog, subject to issuer terms).
No cash equivalent, substitution, or transfer, except Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
Winner Notification; Verification
Potential winners will be notified via email (or direct message on Stitchables) within 7 days of judging. Winners may need to sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within 7 days. Failure to comply may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate.
Taxes & Reporting
All prize values are in U.S. Dollars. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes, fees, or other costs. Visa® gift cards are treated as cash equivalents and are taxable income.
- If a winner receives $600 or more in prizes from Sponsor in a calendar year, Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC.
- Winners must provide a completed Form W-9 before receiving prizes at or above this threshold.
- If a winner fails to provide required tax information, Sponsor may withhold 24% backup withholding or select an alternate winner.
Gift cards are subject to issuer terms and conditions. Funds do not expire for at least 5 years under federal law, though replacement of expired or lost cards is per issuer policy.
B. ADDITIONAL TERMS
- General Conditions. By entering, you agree to these Rules and Sponsor’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Sponsor’s decisions are final.
- Content License; Publicity. By entering, you grant Sponsor and DS Leather Goods a non-exclusive license to use your entry (photos, text, username) for Contest administration and promotional purposes.
- Assumption of Risk. Leathercraft involves tools and materials that may be hazardous. By entering, you assume all risks and release Sponsor as set forth below.
- Misconduct. Sponsor may disqualify anyone tampering with the Contest or violating these Rules.
- Termination. Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest if fraud, technical issues, or other causes impair the Contest’s integrity.
- Release & Limitations of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants release Sponsor, DS Leather Goods, and their affiliates from any liability arising from participation or prize use.
- Disputes; Governing Law. Governed by the laws of Texas, without regard to conflicts of law. Exclusive venue is in Dallas County, TX. No class actions or jury trials to the extent permitted by law.
- Winner List. Winners’ usernames will be posted on Stitchables.net within 14 days of Contest end. To request a copy, email [support@stitchables.net] with subject line “Winner List – Halloween Bag Contest” within 6 months.
C. PATTERN USES (DS Leather Goods)
The Contest uses the Halloween Bag pattern provided by DS Leather Goods. By entering, you acknowledge and agree to the following pattern use restrictions set by DS Leather Goods:
- Permitted Use:
- If you are a 1-person small leather crafting business, you may sell as many handmade products as you like that are made using this pattern.
- Otherwise, the pattern is intended for personal use only.
- Prohibited Use:
- Selling or distributing the pattern itself (commercially or non-commercially) is strictly forbidden.
- Creating cut dies (clicker dies) using the pattern is forbidden.
- Laser cutting is not possible or permitted.
- Non-handmade production of the Halloween Bag (e.g., machine/manufacturing) is not allowed.
- Attribution:
- If you share your completed Halloween Bag on social media, you must credit DS Leather Goods by tagging www.instagram.com/dsleathergoods and/or the DS Leather Goods Etsy shop.
