Which looked good before punching, but failed to account for the size of my punches, so the holes ended up getting really close to the edge.</p>
<p>But thanks! I think it looks ok, but am concerned for longevity.</p>

What made you want to give up? I found it generally straight forward to build, if a bit cumbersome due to size.
